How to get involved
Play
From beginners to experienced players, MRBA offers opportunities for all ages and abilities. Get involved through Aussie Hoops, junior and senior competitions, or trial for a representative team. Playing with MRBA is about staying active, making friends, developing your skills, and enjoying the game in a welcoming, inclusive environment.
Umpire / Referee
Referees are essential to our association. Whether you're a current player looking to contribute, a parent wanting to stay involved, or simply someone who loves the game, refereeing is a rewarding opportunity. We provide training, accreditation courses, and ongoing mentoring to get you started and support you along the way. Referees also get paid to officiate games — making it a great way to earn some income while building confidence, communication, and leadership skills.
Volunteer
Volunteers are the backbone of MRBA, and there are many ways to help. Opportunities include coaching or assisting with a team, being a team manager, helping on game days, or supporting the association at an administrative level.
